Vallisneria spiralis Reef (Italian Val.) will grow to the surface of the pond. This is a vigorous grower, no flowers but the leaves have a slightly red hue. Hardy to zone 4.
O2 Reefs are the easiest way to successfully grow submerged aquatics. Reef plants soften the pond bottom while promoting a healthy pond envirionment. Our O2 reef aquatic grasses are fully rooted in fiber mat material forming a reef-like module that is weighted with lead bands. In gravel bottom ponds, reefs can be anchored right in the gravel.
Held in place at first, the reefs quickly settle to the bottom of any pond allowing their roots to naturally spread amid the gravel and/or sediment.
