Hygrophila difformis Reef (Wisteria) will reach the surface of the pond and spread it's leaves out above the water. Grows roots along the stems whenever submerged. Very vigorous grower and more Koi resistant than other grasses. Has delicate violet flowers. Hardy to zone 9.
O2 Reefs are the easiest way to successfully grow submerged aquatics. Reef plants soften the pond bottom while promoting a healthy pond envirionment. Our O2 reef aquatic grasses are fully rooted in fiber mat material forming a reef-like module that is weighted with lead bands. In gravel bottom ponds, reefs can be anchored right in the gravel.
Held in place at first, the reefs quickly settle to the bottom of any pond allowing their roots to naturally spread amid the gravel and/or sediment.
