BLACK JAPANESE TRAPDOOR SNAIL (VIVIPARIS MALLEATUS)
As its name implies, this snail is black in color... body and shell. It can reach a length of 2.5 inches, but 1.25" is more likely. Trapdoor snails are one of the few varieties that will survive the winter in a cold pond. At least they are suppose to.
It's a great pond cleaner, as far as snails go that is. Don't expect magic though!
It is a live bearing snail. Once you have a few...after a couple of more seasons you will have plenty.
The Black Japanese Trapdoor snail is a common find in backyard ponds.
We do not charge for Snails until we ship.
